Tima Radya is definitely one of the most interesting contemporary Russian artists working in public space. Radya is a winner of the Cutlog NY Artist Prize (2013), the finalist of the Kandynski Award (2014), has residency under the Helsinki International Artist Program (2012) and was nominated to the Kuryokhin Prize (2014). He graduated philosophy at the Ural State University.

Tima’s works provoke a strong social response in Russia, repeatedly becoming a contribution to the discussion about urban space, current social and political problems, or the legality and illegality of art in the city. His art usually takes the form of a monumental and yet minimalistic installations. Most of his work is in the public space of Yekaterinburg.

Artist Talk is implemented with financial support of The Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding. Event and Radia’s further art residence are realized in cooperation with Katowice Street Art AiR.
